Session 12: Sepulchre of the Swamp Witch

The 41st Day of Summer in the Dying Lands…

6AM. We played through the excellently strange Sepulchre of the Swamp Witch, by Christian Sahlen, illustrated and designed by Johan Nohr. I didn't feel like taking notes, knowing that it'd mainly be the dungeon and also possibly the final session of this campaign.

??AM. Gorthron, Stile, Feyrien, Mistress, and Malachi reach the root-walled altar of the swamp witch with their sacrifices in tow. Malachi befriended the serpent guardian at the start of the dungeon, Green Snake, who's decided to adopt a unique identity for himself as Green Paul. He lives in Malachi's bag of holding.

Mistress, tired of the apocalypse, wishes that "the apocalypse was wholly and infinitely prevented." The Swamp Witch explains that Mistress' wish damaged the altar and it'll be able to grant wishes in a few months. Mistress' memory of her wish is wiped and the rest of the party are left in the dark about what she could've wished for.

The Motherfuckers exit the dungeon and find the swamp they were once in is now a vibrant grassland. The sunken monastery is active with monks and followers, and the town of "Brandonsford" (unbeknownst to them, the town has a new name now) is populated with all manner of ancestries.

The Motherfuckers realize the world may have reset in a timeline where the apocalypse never started and they're the only ones who remember. They buy a wagon and rent horses from the village, starting their journey back to "Grift," desperate to uncover what else has changed in this brand new world...
